16th week #2

We just worked on our final projects but I don't have final for this class so I just hang out in the class room, worked on my blogs for AP biology. I feel like I am always working on AP biology stuff in this class. Next week, we have junior and senior trips so nobody is going to be in the class. I assume we don't need to do blogs for next week.

16th week #1

We are almost done with the class!! Today we started the review for everything that we covered this semester. BUTTT I have like 97% in this class, so for sure I won't have to take final. I have just been working on my blogs and websites. My websites are basically done, so I really don't have any left out to do for this class. I am so happy that I am done with everything!

15th week #2

Today, we started the new chapter, the lymph and immune system. Mr. Kuhn just assigned us the key terms and brief reading about this chapter. So we worked on it during class today. I am not worrying about this class so much, but I am VERY worrying about AP biology just like always....

AP EXAM IS ON MONDAY!

15th week #1

This time, we had a test or presentation on chapter 12,13, and 14, which are about blood, heart, and circulation. I chose to do presentation, and it was hard to make a presentation because there were so much to write about. Mr. Kuhn said that it was okay not to include every single small details, as long as it was covered briefly. However I am not good at summarizing so I ended up including details more than I needed. Well, I could answer all the questions he asked, and it went pretty well, I guess.

I am happy that I finished it though. ANDDD I got 5 extra points :)

14th week #2

Aoua and I showed our advertisement of blood donation to four other groups to see what they would think today. Basically people told us that we should say more information about it since we only said that we need blood in the iMovie. It was easy to fix it though. Because we wanted to say more stuff but we thought we weren't going to able to say it all in 30 seconds. So it didn't take us so much to record it again. I hope we will do good tomorrow.

14th week #1

Today, Mr. Kuhn assigned us a project. We have to make a 30 seconds advertisement. Aoua and I chose blood donation and it will probably be a kind of depressing one. We both didn't really want to record or talk so much, so we will put a few pictures together and add sounds, music, and explanation to it. I hope it won't take so long though....I have to make a power point for the next test, but more than that I NEED TO STUDY FOR AP BIOLOGY EXAM!!!!

13th week #2

So Mr. Kuhn wasn't here today again. He apparently took his mom up to the SLC airport. He wasn't here during AP biology either. He is busy...

We just worked on our homework that we were assigned last class. Extra credit for yesterday, 3 chapters of key terms for today, and a pathology report for Monday. I don't want to work on any of it this weekend because I have so much to do for AP biology, so I finished it during this period. At least I can focus on AP biology this weekend. I am going to be studying allllll weekend...!

13th week #1

I guess this was the time when I took a test. I didn't really take the test, but I made a presentation about the endocrine system. My test was to include all the details about it and present it to Mr. Kuhn. I made my presentation pretty fast because it wasn't that hard so I felt comfortable presenting it. Although I forgot to include one little stuff on the presentation so I made that real fast while somebody else was doing the presentation. That was scary. But overall I think I did okay. Mr. Kuhn said that I got about 95% out of 100 which is pretty good :)

12th week #2

Apparently Mr. Kuhn had a meeting today so he wasn't there. Mr. Hephenside ? was there instead. We just read the new chapter that we will be studying next.

12th week #1

We had a test on Endocrine system today. There were two choices.
1) taking a real test
2) presentation

Half of the people chose the test and the other half chose presentation. I wasn't ready so I didn't have to do anything but to work on the presentation. I don't want to take a test so it is a good choice for me haha

I think I made an okay powerpoint though. I made it pretty quickly, like in half an hour but I think I put enough details in there. I will be presenting it on Sunday night study hall.

11th week#2

Aoua and I were going to present thymus at this time. But since I was still suspended at this time, Aoua had to do the presentation by herself. I think it went okay though because I wrote every single detail of thymus and sent it to her. I am pretty sure all she had to do was to read it.

I hope it went okay.... I'm sorry Aoua...

11th week #1

Sooo this week, I was gone to Japan since I was suspended. But I know what we did.

We worked on our presentation of each gland of Endocrine system. Aoua and I worked on thymus. Aoua made a picture of it, and I wrote the description and explanation of what it is/does.

10th week #2

Mr. Kuhn told us which vocabularies we had to look up for this chapter, and I finished it pretty fast. There were only about 20 of them, which is way less than the previous chapter.

That's basically the only thing we did today.

10th week #1

Today, it was our first lecture after the spring break, so we have started the next chapter.

Endocrine system seems like it would just be like the nervous system but the good thing is it sounds less complicated than that.

I am excited for what we will be studying from now. This is our last quater at Wasatch!

9th week #2

So Mr. Kuhn was gone today on the last day before spring break. He just let us work on our websites, and blogs. Mr. English was weird when he first came into our class room. He started saying stuff what Leonardo Dicaprio said in the movie, "Inception." He is pretty funny :p

I am soooo excited for the break! Although I have homework assignment from AP biology. 

9th week #1

Todayyy we had a test on chapter 9 and 10. Chapter 9 was about the nervous system, and chapter 10 was about the five senses. Chapter 9 mostly talked about the touch and how the nervous work. Chapter 10 talked more about other four senses; how we taste, how we hear, how we smell, and how we see. The eye structure is so complicated.... There are so many structures and functions. If we didn't have the note card, I would have failed.
I didn't do so well and I couldn't even finish the test on time, but so kind of Mr. kuhn. We will be able to work on the test on Thursday as well :-)

I hope I will do fine on this test though.... I don't want to be nervous about the test during spring break

8th week #2

Today, we watched the video that talks about smell and taste. We haven't finished it yet, but I enjoyed it. Basically they are trying to figure out what the worst smell in the world is, in this video. Also they were doing the competition of how many red pepper they can eat in limited time. It looked so spicy!

Also one man caught a skunk, and made it sprayed at himself the super stinky liquid. And he walked around the city to see what other people would do. Of course it smelt so bad, so everyone just looked at him and gave the bad look, or just walked away from him. It was pretty funny.

I have never smelt skunk, but I would like to try. I don't want to get sprayed though....

8th week #1

Today, we had a lecture about taste. We have 5 main tastes on the tongue: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. Umami is close to agreeable, good in Japanese. I did not know that they used Japanese term for this.
Also we licked this piece of paper, and saw what it tasted like. I didn't taste anything, but a lot of people were saying that it tasted very bitter. They went to drink some water too. I tried it last year in Biology class, but I didn't taste anything then either.

AND next Monday is our blogs/websites due day....I have to work on my chapter 10 website.

7th week #2

Today, Sarah Karr's father came to Wasatch and he talked about stem cells. Actually, Mr. Kuhn gave me study hall because I was at his lecture already during A block. Basically, he talked about what a stem cell is. How it is used, and what for. Just like the homework we were given. I thought it was pretty interesting to know how a clone is made. Even though it is not allowed to clone a human, I would like to make one of myself if it was allowed.

7th week #1

Well, Mr. Kuhn was not there today because he went to salt lake or something so we just had a normal website day. I worked on my key terms that we have for homework, and finished it. There were over 30 words so it took me a little longer than usual. I need to work on my website soon though. We are already almost done with chapter 10!

6th week #2

Today, we continued studying eyes. We saw couple of more optical illusions.
And we worked on our pathology report too. I researched blurred vision. I'm still not really sure if it is actually an eye disorder, but I was curious about it so I did it anyway :p

I am pretty much blind without contact lenses so I wanted to write something about vision. I guess mine is just inherited though....

I thought about getting a surgery that we saw the video of, the other day. But it looks scary....

6th week #1

Okay let's see what we did this time....

OH! we were looking at the optical illusions. They are so interesting. I always try to figure out how it works, but I never do. That is why they are called "illusions." I like looking at them though. "Spinning Lady" is my favorite :). I think that is the one that I will never be able to figure out what is really going on.

It was a good lecture.

5th week #2

What we did today was to draw a diagram of "reflex arc", and "brain." And find functions of each and stuff like that. I am really not an artistic person so my drawing was horrible.... I just tried to make it look like brain and reflex arc haha...

I think I like this nervous system though. At least I like it better than muscle system.

It is just that I was too tired today to do anything in human anatomy class because I had AP biology unit test right before that. AND I didn't do good at all ;(

5th week #1

It is the second day since we have started studying the nervous system. Mt. Kuhn showed us such a gross video of old surgery. It was about a doctor sticking a needle to the brain through eyeballs. Apparently it used be used when they had brain disorder. It is such a disgusting idea though. Even if I got some brain injury, I would not want to have that surgery. They are not allowed to have the surgery anymore, but I wonder why they didn't forbid it way long ago.....It hurts the brain even more....

4th week #2

So we changed most slides of our power point, because last time, we wrote too much information in one slide, and it was harder for other people to read, and to get what we were talking about. Nick and I got together after that and changed everything, and fixed everything as well.

When we presented it today, people said that it was so much better than the last time which made me happy. It was not good that Lauren and David didn't work hard on this project, like Nick and I did, but sense we finished it well, we have no problem with that, I guess.....

I dislike the group project though. I can do better if I had to work on it on my own.

4th week #1

Today, we finally presented our projects. Most of the groups that presented today had made a movie, so it was easier for them to present it. We had a powerpoint.
The movies were really funny, and I liked them. I found many things that my group need to fix. And apparently, Lauren is leaving on sometime before we present it again, so we definitely need to find somebody else to read a script. This is frustratingggg!!

3rd week #2

Okay, Lauren and Nick are not in class again. Lauren went to sun dance and she also has snowboarding competition this weekend. Nick is in health center or something. So basically David and I have to work hard to complete this project....

Right now I'm just reading the website that I had researched for. And sense David's grammar is hundred times better than mine is, I will write rough draft to him so he can write the final script. We will record this weekend. WE REALLY HAVE TO WORK ON THIS!

3rd week #1

Today, a lot of people were gone for sun dance. So was Mr. Kuhn. Therefore, we just continued working on our projects, QUIETLY. I am writing this blog in class sense my job is over. I had to research and Nick is going to start writing the script. However he is gone. I mean he was here but he had an appointment or something so Lauren and I are the only ones in our group. And our jobs are to find pictures and websites related to our project, which we have been done with.

I am just going to work on my websites/blogs for this class now.

2nd week #2

Today, we have started our projects about muscle system. Nick, Lauren, David, and I are in the same group, and we decided to make a pod cast about protein supplements. We will talk about protein shakes, protein pills, and whey especially because Nick's brother takes it. I was surprised at these protein supplements are very expensive!

I have tried some protein shakes and protein bars that my friend had, and they didn't taste very good, honestly. I didn't get buff or anything though because I wasn't working out. I just didn't know they were that expensive. 100 dollars can be lost in like a second, which I would not like....

I think just working out as hard as you can is the best way to gain muscle. At least you wouldn't lose much money.

2nd week #1

Today, we were going to start our new project, but since it was Tuesday, short class, we decided to start it next time. So what we did was just to work on our homework sheet. It took a while to find the right words.... I couldn't finish it in the class but I'm done with it now :)

I think I like this chapter. I need to memorize the names of the muscles though... My test is on Sunday, I think?

1st week #2

So I wasn't in the class this time, again...BUT Aoua told me what they did.

This time, they went over the chapter 8, and discussed about muscle. And we are having a quiz on naming muscles on Monday (Today). I need to make up some time to take it later.....

1st week #1 (Semester 2)

I wasn't in the class this time, but I heard from Aoua what they did.
Apparently, they just went over the movie review sheet and they worked on it. I already finished it over the break, so I just sent it to Mr. Kuhn.

I don't have my rough draft for that anymore, because I thought we only had to turn in the final one. I e-mailed Mr. Kuhn, and he said that it was fine that I don't have my rough draft as long as I have my final one :)

I was happy that I didn't have to work on my movie review since Im already finished.
